On the 10th September 2024 Donald Trump and Kamala Harris had their first [and probably last] Presidential Election TV debate. No doubt, Trump had been prepped for weeks in readiness for this extremely important ‘incontro’. In reality it turned out to be a Trump barrage of ridiculous lies and inane comments bereft of any real policy detail:
- ‘In Springfield Ohio they’re eating the cats, the people that came in, they’re eating the dogs. They’re eating the pets of the people who live there…and this is what’s happening in our country
- ‘They have abortions in the 9th You can even ask the previous Governor of West Virginia. The baby will be born and we will decide what to do with the baby. In other words we will execute the baby. The Democrats are radical in that.’
- She has a plan to confiscate everybody’s gun – [untrue]
- ‘I could end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours’ – [impossible]
- ‘They sent her to negotiate peace [with Putin] before this war started. Three days later he went in and started the war – [untrue]
- ‘We have millions of people pouring into our country from prisons, jails, mental institutions, insane asylums. They are taking jobs that are occupied by African Americans and Hispanics.’ [untrue]
- ‘I read where she was not black that she put out…..and then I read that she was black.’
As Stephanie Grisham stated [ex Press Secretary to Trump] – ‘Trump has no empathy, no morals and no fidelity to the truth.’
